Web Design Fort McMurray Two Hundred And Ten Searches A Month. Almost Nobody Competing For Them.

Web design in Fort McMurray has one of the lowest competition scores we have measured anywhere in Alberta. Real demand, and hardly anyone bidding against it. Markets do not stay this quiet forever.

What Wood Buffalo actually needs

A Site Built For How People Here Use The Internet

Fort McMurray is not a scaled-down Edmonton. The work patterns, the connectivity and the mix of who is buying are genuinely different, and a website built without accounting for that underperforms.

01

Read On A Phone, Often On Bad Signal

A lot of your visitors are on a phone, on site or on a rotation, with connectivity that ranges from good to nearly none. A heavy site does not load slowly for them. It does not load. Lightweight construction is the single highest-value decision in a build here.

Test My Speed
02

Half Your Traffic Might Be Looking For Work

In a lot of Fort McMurray businesses, especially trades and services, recruitment is as pressing as sales. A careers page that actually works, with a form somebody answers, does more for many local operators than another paragraph about quality and integrity.

Talk Hiring
03

You May Be Selling To Procurement

If any of your revenue comes from the industrial operators, your site is being read by someone checking whether you are a real company with real certifications before they put you on a list. That reader wants safety records, insurance and capability, not a slideshow.

A Quote With The Number In It

Scope, timeline and price. Not a discovery call.

Tell us what your business does and what the current site is failing at. We come back with what we would build, how long it takes and what it costs, so you can compare it properly against anyone else you are talking to.

  • A written review of your current site, including how it performs on a slow connection
  • A clear scope and a fixed price, not a range that moves later
  • An honest answer on whether you need a rebuild or just a serious tidy-up

What you get

What Is Actually In The Build

Every quote includes all of this. None of it is an upsell, because a site missing any of it is not finished.

Built Light On Purpose

Compressed images, minimal scripts, proper caching, and no page dragging in nine plugins to display a gallery. We test on a throttled connection before launch, because the connection you have in the office is not the one your customer has on site.

Designed For The Phone First

The small screen is designed first and expanded upward. Tap targets big enough for gloves, phone numbers that dial with one tap, and no menu that needs two hands and good light to operate.

A Careers Page That Works

Roles listed properly, a short application form with file upload for a resume, and applications routed somewhere a person will actually see them. For a lot of Fort McMurray operators this earns back the cost of the site on its own.

Credentials Front And Centre

Safety certifications, insurance, licences, associations and the operators you have worked for, presented where a procurement reader will find them in ten seconds rather than buried on an about page.

Enquiries That Reach You

Forms that email and text you the moment they land, keep their own record, and do not vanish into a spam folder. Tested from outside the office before launch, on a phone, on mobile data.

Something You Can Edit

Change hours, prices, job postings and photos yourself, without calling us and without waiting for a reply. Recorded walkthrough included, and it stays yours.

Site Ownership Stays Yours

A competition score of one means almost nobody is paying to reach these searches. That will not last indefinitely, and the businesses that build now will be the ones already ranking when it changes.

How it runs

Build To Launch

Four to six weeks for most builds. The variable is almost always how fast content and photos come back to us.

Scope And Structure

What you sell, who reads the site, whether hiring or procurement matters, and what the site needs to make happen. Page list and price agreed in writing before anything is designed.

Week 1

Design And Build

Homepage design first for sign-off, then the rest built around it, on a staging link you can watch. We keep the page weight down as we go rather than trying to strip it back at the end.

Weeks 2–4

Test And Launch

Tested on a throttled mobile connection, forms tested from outside, redirects mapped so existing rankings survive, and a walkthrough recorded for your team. Then we watch it for a fortnight.

Your Questions, Answered

Is a website worth it up here
Two hundred and ten people a month searching for web design locally says businesses think so. The more interesting number is the competition score of one, which means the ranking work that follows a build is unusually cheap right now. The same result in Calgary would cost several times as much to achieve.
What does a website actually cost
It depends on the page count and whether you need a careers section, a document library or a customer login. A straightforward site for a local trade or service business is a very different number from an industrial contractor site with certification libraries. Fixed price against an agreed scope, given before you commit.
Most of my work comes from the operators, not the public
Then the site has a different job, and we build it differently. It exists to make you credible to a procurement reader and to whoever is checking you out before a meeting. Fewer pages, more proof, and everything that establishes you are a real company with real certifications easy to find.
Will I lose my Google rankings
Not if it is done properly. Every existing URL is mapped to its new home with a permanent redirect before launch. Rankings usually wobble for a week or two and then settle.
You are a long way from Fort McMurray
We are. Edmonton is the closest of our two offices and it is not a short drive. Everything runs on calls, screen shares and a staging link you can watch from anywhere, which is how most of this work happens now. Same time zone, same province, and no work sent offshore.
Can you write the content
Yes, and it is usually the right call. We interview you, write it, and you edit. The alternative, where the client promises to send copy, is the single most common reason a website project stalls for three months.
