Straight answer
Massage demand is local and repeat-driven. Someone searches "massage therapy near me" or "deep tissue massage Edmonton", compares three clinics on reviews and availability, and books whoever makes it easiest. Marketing for a massage clinic is the work of being in that shortlist, looking credible when someone lands on your site, and making online booking one tap away.
In practice: a complete Google Business Profile, a page for each modality, review generation that never stops, and a booking flow that works on a phone at 10pm.
Why it matters
None of these are exotic. We find them on almost every clinic we audit.

Get my free proposalA single "Services" page listing eight modalities ranks for none of them. Deep tissue, prenatal, sports, cupping and lymphatic each need their own page if you want to be found for them.

What we do
Pick the parts you need. Most clinics start with local search and reviews.
Google Business Profile build-out, a page per modality, citation cleanup and the on-page work that gets you into the top three for "massage near me" across your catchment.
An automated request after each appointment through LinkBuffer Cloud, so review volume and recency keep climbing. Never gated — every patient gets asked.
A fast site that states your modalities, direct-billing insurers and hours clearly, with booking one tap from any page.
Search campaigns for high-intent terms, with negatives that keep you out of spa, massage-chair and training-course searches.
What deep tissue actually does, whether massage is covered by benefits, how often to come in. This is what AI Overviews and People Also Ask pull from.
Calls, form fills and online bookings by source. One page, monthly, with what we changed and what it did.

How it runs
Typical ranges — your business may move faster or slower depending on how much groundwork exists.
We review your profile, rankings across your catchment, reviews, site speed and booking path, then sequence the work by what moves bookings soonest.
Week 1Profile rebuild, modality pages, site fixes, review automation switched on, tracking installed so every call and booking is attributed.
Weeks 2–6Local rankings usually start moving in two to three months, with meaningful booking change more often in the three to six month range. We report monthly and adjust.

Get into the top three map results for your main terms, keep reviews recent and plentiful, and make online booking obvious. Those three together do more than any amount of content. A page for each modality is what lets you rank for the specific treatments rather than only "massage".
If you want to rank for them, yes. Deep tissue, prenatal, sports, cupping and lymphatic drainage are separate searches with separate intent. One combined services page competes for none of them well.
Enough to be competitive with the clinics ranking above you, and recent enough that the newest is weeks old rather than years. Recency and volume both feed local ranking and both feed the patient comparing two clinics.
Sometimes — for a new clinic with no ranking, or to fill specific gaps in the schedule. If you already rank in the map pack and your therapists are booked, ads usually buy traffic you would have had anyway. We would tell you which you are before recommending spend.
Massage therapy is not a regulated health profession in Alberta, so there is no College advertising standard, but your professional association may have a code of ethics covering claims and testimonials, and Canadian advertising law still prohibits misleading health claims. We write copy that avoids treatment-outcome promises and will flag anything close to the line.
Local rankings typically start shifting in two to three months. Booking volume changes more often in the three to six month range. Ads can produce bookings in the first week, which is why some clinics run both.
Social helps retention and therapist visibility but is rarely where new patients come from — that is search. Fix local search and reviews first, then add social if you have the capacity.
Yes. We work with businesses across Alberta from our two offices, and the local search work is the same in any town. Smaller markets are often easier to rank in.
