Auto Detailing & Auto Services Marketing — Alberta

Two Seasons Decide Your Year. The Marketing Has To Be Ready Before They Arrive.

Spring salt removal and the first snowfall are when the phone rings hardest in Alberta. The detailers who win those weeks did the work in February and August, because a page published the week demand starts is a page Google has not finished reading yet.

Where Detailing Marketing Goes Wrong

Three Things We Find At Almost Every Shop

None of these are about your work. All three cost bookings in the weeks that matter most.

01

One Page For Every Service

Ceramic coating, paint correction, interior shampoo and a basic wash all sold on a single services page. Someone searching "ceramic coating Edmonton" — a job worth many times a wash — lands somewhere generic and leaves. Each service is a different customer with a different budget.

02

No Photos Of Your Own Work

Stock images of a gleaming car that is not one of yours, on a page where the entire purchase decision is visual. Before-and-after shots of actual vehicles you have done are the most persuasive asset you own and they cost you a phone and two minutes.

03

Booked Solid, Then Silent

Slammed in May, quiet in July, and nothing running in between to smooth it. The fix is not more advertising during the rush — it is having the pages ranking before the rush and something to fill the trough.

Two business days. No deck.

We will show you where you rank for the high-value services rather than just "car wash", how your profile compares with the shops above you, where your booking enquiries go, and what a season-ahead calendar would look like.

The Work

What A Month Actually Looks Like

Six things that happen every month, planned a season ahead.

A Page Per Service

Ceramic coating, paint protection film, paint correction, interior detail, fleet work — one strong page each, written for how people search and priced clearly enough that the enquiry arrives already qualified.

Google Business Profile

Categories chosen against what actually ranks for detailing in your part of the city, service areas set to the ground you really cover, and photos of your own work added on a schedule. For a shop this is where most calls start.

Reviews, As A Habit

A request sent by text when the customer collects the vehicle and is most pleased with it. Every review answered. For a visual, trust-driven purchase the review count moves the map pack faster than anything else you can do.

Before And After, Every Week

Your own work photographed consistently and published — the single most persuasive content in this trade. We set the routine so it happens without anybody having to remember.

Bookings That Reach A Human

Calls and forms routed with an automatic text back within seconds, every enquiry recorded, and anything unanswered flagged. Detailing enquiries often arrive evenings and weekends, which is exactly when nobody is at the desk.

Reporting In Plain English

Calls, forms and bookings month over month by service, so you can see whether the high-value jobs are actually growing or just the washes.

How We Start

The First Ninety Days

Timed deliberately against the season, not against the calendar year.

Measure Before Touching Anything

Where you rank by service across your area, your profile scored against the shops above you, a technical crawl, and your booking path tested from outside on an evening. Yours to keep either way.

Days 1–7

Fix The Profile And The Follow-Up

Profile rebuilt, review requests automated at vehicle collection, photo routine established, and call and form tracking switched on so from here we are counting booked jobs rather than guessing.

Days 8–35

Build For The Next Season

Service pages written and indexed well before demand arrives, reviews accumulating, monthly reporting by service. Map pack movement often shows by week six. Organic is a three month question — which is why we start in the quiet months.

Common Questions

Your Questions, Answered

When should I start if I want a strong spring

January or February. Organic rankings take about three months to move, so a page published in April is still being read by Google while the phone is already ringing. Starting a programme during the rush is the most common and most expensive timing mistake in this trade.

How long before I see something

Google Business Profile and review work often shows movement in four to six weeks. Organic rankings are a three month question. Anyone promising faster on organic is guessing.

Should I advertise during the busy season

If you have capacity to fill, yes — ads are immediate and that is exactly what they are for. If you are already turning work away in May, the money is better spent on ranking for the shoulder months and on the high-value services rather than washes.

Do I really need a page for every service

For the ones with real margin, yes. Ceramic coating and paint correction customers search those exact phrases and compare two or three shops before calling. A generic services page cannot win that comparison because it never addresses the specific job.

What does it cost

It depends on how many services you want to compete for and how much competition sits in your part of the city. The proposal comes back with scope, timeline and a number so you can compare it properly.

Do you lock me into a contract

No. You own the site, the profile, the photos of your own work and the customer data, and you can take all of it with you.

The platform behind the work

Where Detailing Bookings Slip

Detailing runs on two short Alberta seasons and on repeat customers. Missing either is a follow-up failure, not a marketing one.

01

The Enquiry While You Are Under A Car

You cannot answer the phone with a polisher in your hand, and the caller has three other shops in the search results.

02

The Customer Who Came Once

A detail is not a one-time need. Without a reminder at the right interval it becomes one.

03

The Two Seasons

Spring salt removal and autumn pre-winter protection both need outreach before the rush, not during it.

04

The Quote With No Follow-Up

Higher-ticket corrections and coatings are rarely booked on first contact.

What it does

What LinkBuffer Cloud Handles For A Shop

Answers While You Work

An AI assistant replies in seconds, quotes standard packages and books the slot without interrupting the job in front of you.

Automatic reminders timed to the service they had, not to a generic calendar.

Works Both Seasons Early

Pre-season outreach to your existing list before the weather turns.

Follows Up The Big Quotes

Coating and correction quotes get chased politely until answered.

Plan your numbers

What Are Your Slow Replies Actually Costing?

Pick your industry, set your budget, and put in your own numbers. This runs on published Canadian ad costs and industry conversion benchmarks — the sources are listed underneath.

Planning estimate only · built from published benchmarks, not a forecast of your results

What you put into paid search in a month. Leave it where it is if you are only planning.

Your number, not ours. First job, first course of treatment, or lifetime value — whichever you actually manage against.

Of the people who enquire, how many buy. Set this to your own number.

Be honest about evenings and weekends. The 37% default is the share of 2,241 companies that managed it in the Harvard Business Review audit.

The gap, per month

How this is calculated. Clicks = budget ÷ cost per click. Cost per click is the midpoint of Google’s own low and high top-of-page bid estimates for that industry in Canada. Enquiries = clicks × the median Google Ads search conversion rate for that category in the WordStream 2026 benchmark study (13,474 campaigns, April 2025 – March 2026). Enquiries you do not answer quickly are modelled as one seventh as likely to convert, from the Harvard Business Review audit of 2,241 companies, which found firms replying within an hour were roughly seven times likelier to qualify a lead.

Where to be sceptical. That seven-times figure describes a salesperson picking up the phone. An automated first reply is not the same thing, so treat the right-hand column as the size of the opportunity, not a promise. Benchmarks are medians across many advertisers; your own account will differ. Nothing here is a quote.
