Local Business Marketing — Alberta

If Most Of Your Customers Live Within Twenty Minutes, The Whole Game Is A Map.

Three businesses sit in the box above the search results and take most of the phone calls. Position there is decided by proximity, your Google Business Profile and review activity — not by how your website looks. Most owners have never deliberately worked on any of it.

Where Local Businesses Lose

Three Things We Find Almost Everywhere

None of these need a budget. All three cost calls every week.

01

The Profile Was Filled In Once

Categories guessed at opening and never revisited, half the services missing, no hours for holidays, questions unanswered, and the last photo from three years ago. This is the highest-return asset a local business owns, it is free, and almost nobody maintains it.

02

Reviews Left To Luck

Asking a happy customer occasionally, when someone remembers. A systematic request at the moment people are most pleased changes the count materially inside a quarter, and map pack position follows the count more closely than owners expect.

03

Calls That Reach Voicemail

You are on a job, at a counter, or it is 7pm. The caller does not leave a message, they call the next result. We test this on every audit and it fails more often than any other check we run.

A Real Audit, With The Awkward Bits Left In

Two business days. No deck.

We will show you where you sit in the map pack across your actual catchment, who is above you and why, how your review pace compares, what happens when someone calls after hours, and the three things worth fixing first.

  • Your map pack position across your real catchment, not just your postcode
  • How your review pace compares with whoever ranks above you
  • Your phone and form path tested from outside, after hours

The Work

What A Month Actually Looks Like

Six things that happen every month. Three of them cost nothing but attention.

Google Business Profile

Categories chosen against what actually ranks in your part of the city, every service listed, hours right including holidays, photos added on a schedule, questions answered. Free, and the highest-return thing on this page.

Reviews, As A Habit

An automatic request by text at the moment people are most likely to say yes, and every review answered including the difficult ones. The reply is read by your next customer more carefully than the review.

Calls That Reach A Human

Routing with an automatic text back within seconds so a lead is held while you finish what you are doing, every call and form recorded, and anything unanswered flagged.

A Page Per Service

One strong page for each thing you genuinely do, written for how people actually search. Not forty near-identical neighbourhood pages, which Google has treated as one page for years.

The Technical Pass

Speed, mobile rendering, structured data so your address and hours are machine-readable, and a hunt for pages competing with each other. Fixed once, not billed monthly.

Reporting In Plain English

Calls, forms and bookings month over month, next to what we changed. If the number that pays your staff is not moving, we would rather tell you early.

How We Start

The First Ninety Days

The free things first, because they show first.

Measure Before Touching Anything

Map pack position across your catchment, profile scored against whoever is above you, a technical crawl, and your phone and form path tested from outside after hours. Yours to keep either way.

Days 1–7

Fix The Profile And The Phone

Profile rebuilt properly, review requests automated, call routing and text-back live, and tracking switched on so from here we count real outcomes. Most of the early return comes from this fortnight and none of it requires a ranking change.

Days 8–35

Build, Then Hold

Service pages written properly, reviews arriving weekly, monthly reporting on calls and bookings. Map pack movement often shows by week six. Organic is a three month question.

Common Questions

Your Questions, Answered

Can I not just do the Google Business Profile myself

Yes, and if budget is tight you should. Set the right categories, list every service, fix the hours, add photos monthly and ask every happy customer for a review. That is most of the value on this page and it costs nothing. We are worth paying when you want it done consistently without having to remember, and when the competitive work starts.

How long before I see something

Profile, review and call-handling work often shows movement in four to six weeks because none of it depends on a ranking change. Organic rankings are a three month question. If someone promises page one in thirty days, get their answer in writing about what happens if it does not work.

Do I need a new website

Often not. If the current site is reasonably fast and gives people somewhere obvious to go, the money is better spent on the profile, reviews and call handling. We will tell you when a rebuild genuinely is the constraint rather than selling you one by default.

I serve a wide area, not one neighbourhood

Then service area settings matter more than your pin, and building forty near-identical town pages will actively hurt you. There is a right way to cover a wide catchment and it is not the way most agencies sell.

What does it cost

It depends on how competitive your category is locally and how much needs fixing first. The proposal comes back with scope, timeline and a number so you can compare it properly against anyone else.

Do you lock me into a contract

No. You own the site, the profile, the content and the customer data, and you can take all of it with you.
