Pub & Bar Marketing — Alberta

Your Best Night Of The Week Is Invisible To Everyone Who Does Not Already Come In.

Trivia Tuesday, the Oilers game, the new patio, Friday live music. Regulars know. Nobody else does, because none of it appears anywhere a stranger would look — and by Thursday afternoon people are actively searching for somewhere to go.

Where Pubs Lose The Table

Three Things We Find At Almost Every Bar

None of these are about your beer list. All three cost you covers on the nights you most need them.

01

The Calendar Lives On A Chalkboard

Your weekly events are written on a board inside the building, which only works on people already inside the building. Nothing in Google, nothing indexed, nothing findable by someone deciding on Thursday where to take eight people on Saturday.

02

Hours Wrong On The Nights That Matter

Long weekends, game nights, the kitchen closing earlier than the bar. Google shows one thing, reality is another, and somebody arrives to a locked door. For a pub this happens most on exactly the nights with the highest spend per head.

03

Nobody Is Answering The Big Enquiries

Christmas parties, birthdays, team functions, a table of twenty. Those messages arrive through the website or Instagram DMs and often sit for days. They are worth many times an ordinary cover and they go to whoever replies first.

A Real Audit, With The Awkward Bits Left In

Two business days. No deck.

We will show you what someone searching for a pub in your area actually finds, whether your events are visible anywhere outside the building, where your function enquiries go, and the three things worth fixing before the next long weekend.

  • What a stranger sees when they search your area on a Thursday
  • Your hours checked against every night you actually trade
  • Your function enquiry path tested from outside

The Work

What A Month Actually Looks Like

Six things that happen every month, built around your calendar rather than a content plan.

Google Business Profile

Categories, attributes, patio, live music, sports on TV, kitchen hours separate from bar hours, and holiday hours set before the long weekend rather than after it. This is the storefront and most decisions never leave it.

Your Events, Made Findable

The weekly calendar published as indexable pages and posted to your profile, so trivia night and game day appear to someone searching on Thursday. The chalkboard stays, it just stops being the only place it exists.

Reviews, Answered Properly

A steady request habit and every review answered, including the ones about the wait on a Saturday. The reply is aimed at the next reader, and a calm specific answer sells the room better than a wall of five stars.

Function Enquiries That Reach A Human

Christmas parties, birthdays and team bookings routed so they text you and get recorded, with anything unanswered flagged. These are the highest-value messages you receive and they are the ones that most often sit.

Photos That Look Like A Friday

Current shots of the room full, the patio in summer, the food as it actually arrives. Google shows the photos it has, and if yours are empty and daytime that is the impression a stranger forms.

Reporting In Plain English

Searches, calls, direction requests and function enquiries month over month, next to what we changed. Not reach.

How We Start

The First Ninety Days

Most of the value lands in the first fortnight. Rankings take a quarter.

Fix What Is Wrong Right Now

Hours corrected everywhere including kitchen and holiday hours, profile completed, photos refreshed, and unanswered reviews and function enquiries cleared.

Days 1–7

Get The Calendar Out Of The Building

Weekly events published as findable pages and posts, function enquiry routing live, review requests running. From here nothing depends on someone remembering to post.

Days 8–35

Own The Thursday Search

Pages for what you are actually known for — the patio, the wings, the game — monthly reporting on calls and function enquiries, and seasonal work planned before the season.

Days 36–90

Common Questions

Your Questions, Answered

We already post our events on Instagram

Instagram reaches people who already follow you — regulars. The person deciding on Thursday where to take eight people on Saturday is searching, not scrolling your feed. Publish the calendar somewhere findable and Instagram keeps doing its job for the regulars.

How long before I see something

Hours, profile, photos and function-enquiry routing often show within weeks because none of it depends on a ranking change. Competing on search for your area is a three month question.

Christmas bookings — when should we start

September, and that is not an upsell. Function enquiries for December are made in October and November, so a page that goes live in late November is competing for what is left. The work you do in the quiet months fills the busy ones.

We get reviews complaining about wait times

Answer them calmly and specifically. The reply is read by the next customer far more carefully than the complaint, and an owner who responds well to a genuine problem is more persuasive than an unbroken run of five stars.

What does it cost

It depends on how many venues you run and how much needs fixing first. The proposal comes back with scope, timeline and a number, sized against hospitality margins rather than a generic agency retainer.

Do you lock me into a contract

No. You own the site, the profile, the photos and the content, and you can take all of it with you.

The platform behind the work

Where Pub And Bar Trade Leaks

Venues live on the events calendar and the function diary. Both are follow-up problems, and both are usually run out of somebody’s head.

01

The Event Nobody Outside Knew About

A chalkboard inside the pub only reaches people already in the pub. The listing needs to leave the building.

02

The Function Enquiry At Closing

Party and function enquiries come in late and go to whichever venue replies first the next morning.

03

The Christmas Diary Filled In September

Office parties are booked months out. If you start in November the good weeks are gone.

04

The Regular Who Stopped Coming

Nobody notices a lapsed regular, because nobody is counting.

What it does

What LinkBuffer Cloud Handles For A Venue

Answers Function Enquiries Instantly

An AI assistant takes the details, quotes the basics and books the walkthrough while the enquirer is still deciding.

Pushes The Calendar Out

Events go to a list you own, on a schedule, instead of relying on who happens to walk past.

Works The Christmas Window Early

Function outreach starts in the autumn automatically rather than when the diary looks empty.

Keeps Regulars In View

Lapsed regulars get a reason to come back before they find another local.

It replaces a CRM, an email and SMS platform, a social inbox tool and a review-request service.

You own the data. Your customer list is yours and exports in full, with no notice period.

Plan your numbers

What Are Your Slow Replies Actually Costing?

Pick your industry, set your budget, and put in your own numbers. This runs on published Canadian ad costs and industry conversion benchmarks — the sources are listed underneath.

Planning estimate only · built from published benchmarks, not a forecast of your results

What you put into paid search in a month. Leave it where it is if you are only planning.

Your number, not ours. First job, first course of treatment, or lifetime value — whichever you actually manage against.

Of the people who enquire, how many buy. Set this to your own number.

Be honest about evenings and weekends. The 37% default is the share of 2,241 companies that managed it in the Harvard Business Review audit.

The gap, per month

How this is calculated. Clicks = budget ÷ cost per click. Cost per click is the midpoint of Google’s own low and high top-of-page bid estimates for that industry in Canada. Enquiries = clicks × the median Google Ads search conversion rate for that category in the WordStream 2026 benchmark study (13,474 campaigns, April 2025 – March 2026). Enquiries you do not answer quickly are modelled as one seventh as likely to convert, from the Harvard Business Review audit of 2,241 companies, which found firms replying within an hour were roughly seven times likelier to qualify a lead.

Where to be sceptical. That seven-times figure describes a salesperson picking up the phone. An automated first reply is not the same thing, so treat the right-hand column as the size of the opportunity, not a promise. Benchmarks are medians across many advertisers; your own account will differ. Nothing here is a quote.
